Lucinda's Quilting Adventure

My journey of becoming a Longarm Quilter

Working on the little machine...

I've spent most of my spare time this week working on my Bernina machine.  I am in several monthly sewing clubs and have been working on the blocks I have gathered for those clubs.  In one of the clubs we are working on Lori Holt's, Farm Girl Vintage, Cover Quilt.

I also created 6 drink coasters for a birthday gift.  These coasters are fast and easy.  You need 4 inches of batting for each coaster and two 4.5 inch blocks.  You sew the blocks together with a scant 1/4 inch seam on three sides.  Turn the blocks inside out.  Carefully place the 4 inch batting piece in your coaster pocket.  Turn in the raw edge of the top and bottom and press.  Sew 1/8 inch seam around the outside of the pocket and quilt the coaster any way you want.  I quilted each of my coasters differently.  It's a quick, home-made gift!

Have a great week!
